I am very disheartened by all this - My account is one that what little child support I get & $50 from my paycheck go into each week. After looking into it further and seeing all the fraudulent charges that have happened to people I called chase back & was advised to cancel my card. I just had to do the same thing with my chase debit card an hour ago - I just happened to check my account and a charge of $86.35 ( dri* mn) pending - I spoke to a woman at chase and cannot do anything about it until the charge posts - probably tomorrow. With high levels of fraud, you have to limit your risk. Use only ATM cards requiring PINs at your bank's own ATM machines. Use checks only for payments to trusted companies: rent, mortgage, utilities, bank payments, etc. Use only credit cards for on-line or retail payments. ![]() They are higher risk than credit cards, since they drain real money out of your account, screw up your payments to creditors, cause possible overdraft fees, and are more disrupting to block than credit cards. ![]() In the future, do NOT have or use debit or check cards. Your bank should reverse the charges and return your money quickly. If these charges go through, they will likely pile on similar anonymous charges as fast as they can until you shut down the card.įollow up with a WRITTEN fraud dispute sent to your bank, to the dispute address from your statement, to best protect your FRB Reg. ![]() Since they all appeared at once, it is most likely some thief got your card number and ran up charges for products that can be bought on-line and downloaded. The other two are game retailers.Īll three are legitimate companies selling legitimate products.
